Fitness Training

​

1. Where does the personal training and classes take place?

Training takes place in a private well equipped studio located in West Busselton.

 

2. What Classes are available?

All classes are freestyle, this means they are NOT pre-choreographed branded  classes but rather tailor made classes to suite the usual participants.

3. What style of Yoga do you offer?

I offer a hatha based Yoga class in either a dynamic (Instruction based) class or a silent Flow class. My Teacher is the well known Simon Borg-Olivier and I qualified with his school- Yoga Synergy.

4. What times are Personal Training available?

Please contact me for available time slots generally before or after work times.

5. How big are your classes?

Class numbers are usually below 10 as this gives everyone maximum attention to technique.

Discover Fitness Adventures

​

1. How fit do I need to be? 

I have designed the Adventures to suit five different fitness levels and each have an easy fitness requirement for you to decide which is right for you.

  1. Easy- up to 6km walk, mixture of sand, dirt & rock, minimal hills | Healthy active- Be able to walk 5km+ comfortably off road

  2. Medium- Up to 6km Run or 8km walk (intermittent), mixture of sand (Beach), dirt & rocks, some hills. | Active Low Fitness- Intermittently Jog/ Walk 5km on/ off road 

  3. Rough- Up to 8km run (intermittent), mixture of sand, dirt & rock hopping, regular hills. |  Active Med Fitness- Run 5km non-stop on/ off road

  4. Hard- Up to 12km run/ bike (few stops), Mixture of sand (Beach), dirt, rock hopping, and long/ steep hills. |  Active Exp Fitness- Run up to 10km non-stop on/ off road

  5. Ultra- the toughest, 15km plus trail running or bike, Mixture of sand (Beach), dirt, rock hopping, and long/ steep hills. | Active Trail Fitness- Run 15km plus non-stop off road

  • The booking procedure had a series of questions regarding your health and fitness levels, for your safety and enjoyment these must be filled in correctly.

  • I have designed each of the events around a minimum fitness level as specified in the booking questions, anyone that has a higher level of fitness will still enjoy the lower level activities but may not be challenged as we do require that everyone stick together.

  • If you have any doubt over your fitness levels or you answered a health question incorrectly please contact me for further advice.

  • While I do encourage everyone to challenge themselves it may be dangerous for you to participate in a higher level activity, your booking can be changed to a more suitable event if necessary.

2. What Accessibility options do you have?

  • Mobility access- Due to the nature of the activities involved (off road walking/ hiking, Trail Running/ jogging etc), Everybody's Discover Adventures it is not suitable for people with mobility impairments. Please contact us for suggested locations about the South West that you could visit.

  • Age- The activities are suitable for everyone from 16 years up as long as they can meet the relevant fitness requirements.

  • Disabilities- For those that are physically capable of participating in the activities but have other impairments or disabilities that require assistance please contact me to discuss the suitability, Carers are most welcome.

  • Carer/ Companion Cards- A 25% discount applies for joining their companion for an activity. Contact me for bookings.

3. What can I expect on a Discovery Adventure?

These events are designed to re-connect you with your body and nature by enjoying challenging physical activities in the wonder of nature.

The activities will vary depending on the event but may include some or all of the following;

  • Bush walking- up to 6km of exploring off road trails that may include inclines and/or stairs, sand and water crossings.

  • Hiking- More than 6km of exploring off road trails that will include steep inclines, traversing rocky terrain, sand and water crossings.

  • Trail Running- Running more than 6km, exploring off road trails that will include steep inclines, traversing rocky terrain, sand and water crossings.

  • Mountain Biking- Riding mostly 4wd access tracks up to 30km that will include steep inclines, traversing rocky terrain, sand and water crossings.

  • Yoga- A gentle Flow yoga session will be conducted at the end of every event as part of our cool down and stretch.

4. What do I bring?

  • Clothing- Dress to suit the weather and activity including but not limited to, Shoes, Hat, Sunglasses, Rain gear, extra layers that can be easily stowed.

  • Hydration- It is recommended that you bring a minimum of 1 Litre of water as re-fill points may not be available. A hydration pack such as a CamelBak is highly recommended. 

  • Food- Please check the details for the event, one meal may be included at the conclusion, any extra snacks for on the trail will not be provided. Please bring your own if you wish.

  • Medication- If you require any medications such as Ventolin please ensure that you bring that with you and that you have informed Sean Brockman about the need and that the activity is going to be within your capabilities.

  • Pack- A backpack suitable for the activity is recommended, all events unless otherwise specified will be minimalist in nature, eg. travel light!

 

A note on Sustainability.

  • We are an Eco Tourism accredited business.

  • All events endeavour to leave behind nothing but footprints.

  • Please consider the environment when planning on attending.

  • Ride sharing

  • Unpackaged snacks

  • Reusable water bottles

Are all encouraged and appreciated by the environment.

 

5. What does the EcoTourism Certification mean?

This means that when you travel with us, you are supporting a business that is backed by a strong, wellmanaged commitment to sustainable practices and provides high-quality naturebased tourism experiences.

The Ecotourism Australia Certification programs are recognised by the Global
Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).

 

6. Where do I meet and When?

  • If the meeting location is not specified on the event you will be contacted with further instructions.

  • You need to arrange your own transportation to the meeting place unless otherwise arranged as part of the tour.

  • Please arrive a minimum of 5 mins before the start time.

 

7. What if there is bad weather?

Wind, Rain and Sunshine are all part of nature, all events will go ahead as planned unless there is severe weather that would make it unsafe.

8. Do you have a Cancellation and Refund Policy?

Yes, If you need to cancel or reschedule please contact us immediately, if an event gets cancelled or re-scheduled appropriate arrangements will be made to either book you onto the next suitable event or provide a refund.

All normal consumer laws apply as below;

  • We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind. This includes change of circumstance. (eg. Covid restrictions, Work, living etc.)

  • There is a 48 hour cooling off period for all events providing cancellation is before cut off date (two days before the event), Please note that there is a $25 admin fee plus any services already allocated.

  • In the event of cancellations on our part a full refund will be issued.

  • You can choose a refund or exchange if our service has a MAJOR problem. This is when the service:

  1. 1Has a problem that would have stopped you buying the service had you known about it

  2. Is unsafe

  3. Is significantly different from the sample or description

  4. Doesn’t do what we said it would, or what you asked for and can’t easily be fixed.

  • Please read the release of liability (found on the membership forms & casual sign in form).

  • If the problem is NOT MAJOR, we will rectify the problem or recommend a solution.

  • If you suffer from a medical condition (eg. Injury, illness) AFTER purchasing our services, you can choose to suspend the service. If after a reasonable time (12 months) you are still unable to use our services in any way, you may choose a refund or transfer for the balance of services. A doctor’s certificate is required in both instances and any recommended rehabilitation MUST have been followed.

9. What Covid19 policies apply?

  • No government mandates are in place in relation to fitness based activities.

  • You and your fellow participants vaccination status is private medical information that does not effect your ability to participate and therefore will not be required to be disclosed.

  • As always if you are feeling unwell please consider your fellow participants and stay home.
